Our 11 days Uganda gorilla, wildlife, and cycling safari take you to the most beautiful and scenic areas in western – Uganda. You will ride through the great lakes, undulating hills, and the jungles of Bwindi impenetrable National park for Gorilla trekking and bike rides. This is followed by a thrilling cycling safari in Uganda’s popular savannah parks where you expect to search for wildlife. These 11 days Uganda gorilla and cycling safari starts and ends in Entebbe/Kampala Uganda.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be met by a Great Adventure Safaris representative who will transfer you to the Guest House in Entebbe overnight at Airport Link Guest House Entebbe.
After breakfast, you will meet your driver-guide again and transfer to the fort portal. The town is well known as the center for the nearby tea-growing areas and sits on the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains. After lunch, you will enjoy a 50KM drive through the villages and countryside. Overnight at Ruwenzori view Guest House.
After breakfast, with packed lunch – you will embark on cycling through the crater lakes and your hearts will be moved by the magnificent scenery of the craters, we shall stop to have lunch at one of the craters – After lunch, we shall continue to the main road where you can decide to have a called drink – we shall have the bikes on the vehicle and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park. You will have stops at the Equator crossing at Kikolongo for photography and then continue overnight at Bush Lodge in tents.
After breakfast, expect to have a spectacular day as you ride through Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will ride on a gravel road through the savannah and if you are lucky enough, you will spot wildlife like waterbucks, buffalos, elephants to mention but a few, and please note that your vehicles will be right behind you so no threats of being grabbed by savages. After lunch, you will go for a boat safari on the Kazinga channel and this will allow you to see more wildlife and bird species that come to drink water. You will return to the lodge overnight at Bush Lodge.
After breakfast, you will meet your driver/guide and take a 3-4 hours’ drive to Buhoma town, with this you will leave the flat savannah and go up the rain forest, you will have lunch upon arrival and later in the afternoon, you will visit the local communities and some local project. You will return to the lodge overnight at Ride 4 a Woman.
After breakfast, you will meet your driver-guide and transfer to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts when you meet mountain gorillas in the natural habitat. You will be assigned the gorilla family to trek and start the walk into the dense rain forest to look for the Gorillas. Once you meet the Gorillas, only one hour will be allowed to take photos and then trek back to the starting point. You will meet your driver-guide and drive back to the lodge overnight at Ride 4 a Woman.
After breakfast, you will start a challenging ride on the edge of Bwindi impenetrable National park/forest, ranging from the small track through rural areas to wide dirt roads straight through the forest. There is a lot of views and scenery along the trail and if you are lucky enough, you might encounter monkeys. Expect a chilly evening as you will end your ride at 2300M. You will have overnight at Broad Bill tented Camp.
After breakfast, you will ride along Bwindi impenetrable National park to reach civilization again and you will be quite descending but still, you mean some hills to tackle before arriving at Lake Bunyonyi, expect to see some terraced fields in the Switzerland of Africa where people grow various crops. You will have lunch and overnight at Birdnest Resort.
After breakfast, you will meet your driver/guide and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have lunch at the lodge in the park and later go for a game drive to look for late grazers as you prepare for cycling the next morning. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock.
After your morning breakfast, you will embark on a short cycling safari along the border of Lake Mburo National parkas in the morning there are high chances of seeing wildlife as they come out to graze, expect to see Zebras, antelopes, giraffes, and buffalos. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will transfer to the pier for your 2 hours boat safari on Lake Mburo and expect to see a lot of water animals and water birds. You will return to the lodge overnight at Rwakobo Rock
Depending on your onward flight out, you will embark on 4 drives to Entebbe and we recommend that you look at flights that leave Entebbe international airport after 4 pm.
