Day 1-Arrival in Jomo Kenyatta international airport
Upon arrival at the airport, the Great Adventure Safaris representative will receive you, transfer you to the hotel, and if time allows, you will have an opportunity to visit the Giraffe center or do a Nairobi city tour, you will return to the hotel overnight.
Day 2-Drive to Masai Mara national reserve
After morning breakfast, you will embark on one of the greatest drives in Africa on the age of rift valley with a stop at Nanyuki town for a lunch break, then continue to Masai Mara National reserve, and if time allows you may do an evening game drive or visit the Masai villages.
Day 3-Full day game drive in Masai Mara national reserve
After morning breakfast, with your picnic boxes in an open African safari jeep, you will head into Masai Mara National Reserve for a full day game drive in search of predators like leopard, hyena, lions, and cheetah, and other wildlife like wildebeest during the season, giraffe, elephants, zebra, and others. During the hit in the peak of the day, you will take your picnic lunch and later continue with the game drives to search for the would-be missed out wildlife, you will return to the lodge overnight.
Day 4-Drive to Serengeti national park
After early morning breakfast, you will start your drive from Masai Mara to the famous Serengeti National park which plays host to the starting point of the Great Wildebeest Migration in East Africa. For convenience, you will be handed over to the Tanzanian guide who will drive you to Serengeti in Tanzania – depending on the location of your lodge, it could be a long drive but once you enter Serengeti, you start game viewing.
Day 5-full day game drive in Serengeti national park
After morning breakfast, you will take your game drive into the famous Ndutu area where wildebeest calving season takes place in February and March amidst the predators and you will have a picnic lunch in the plains, depending on your luck with wildlife sighting, you may return at the lodge before dark to enjoy a short nap at the lodge as you relax from the long drives.
Day 6-Drive to Arusha for flight to Kigali international airport
Depending on your onward flight, you will drive to Kilimanjaro international airport for your flight to Rwanda’s Kigali international airport where a great Adventure Safaris representative will be waiting for you and transfer to the hotel overnight.
Day 7-Drive to Nyungwe forest national park
After morning breakfast, you will depart to one of the remaining tropical rain forests in the southwest of Kigali city, you will have stops at the Nyanza kings palace and Thermographic museum in Butare then you will continue to Nyungwe overnight as you prepare to trek the chimpanzees.
Day 8-Chimpanzee trekking experience in Cyamudongo
Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda starts as early as 4; 30am and clients meet at the park station in Gisakura and start the drive which is about one hour to Cyamudongo where the trekking takes place, up the arrival, you will meet the park rangers and start looking for the chimpanzees on foot and once you locate them, you will spend one hour with the chimpanzees and then drive back to the lodge. After lunch, you will drive to Uwinka for the canopy walk and later return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 9-Drive to Lake Kivu for relaxation
You will have a lazy morning at the lodge and drive to Karongi lake Kivu beach zone, where you will have an afternoon relaxing at the lodge and later take a sundowner boat cruise on the lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 10-Experience coffee tour on Lake Kivu
Early morning drive to Gisenyi, upon arrival you will take a boat cruise to Nyamirundi Island where you will enjoy a crop to cup coffee experience, from harvesting to processing the coffee beans, then you will return to Gisenyi and relax at the lodge for overnight
Day 11-Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After a lazy breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mutanda which is one of the spectacular Crater Lake overlooking the great Virunga mountain ranges, you will check-in at the lodge and in the evening take a boat cruise to explore some of the islands on the like, return to the lodge for overnight stay.
Day 12-Gorilla trekking experience
Depending on the availability of Gorilla permits, you may tack gorillas in either Bwindi impenetrable National park or Mgahinga Gorilla National park. The day starts with a drive to the park station, get a briefing about the rules and regulations during the trek, once you find the Gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour to be close to them and the return to the starting point. Meet your driver-guide and transfer to the lodge overnight.
Day 13-Drive to Fort portal
After morning breakfast, you will drive to fort-portal which is the adventure city of western Uganda, the area has the largest concentration of crater lakes and in the evening you will take a walking safari to explore the crater lakes, return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 14-Drive to Murchison falls national park
After breakfast, you start your scenic drive to Murchison falls National Park which is Uganda’s largest national park and home to chimpanzees, shoebill stork, and the famous Murchison falls which is the strongest waterfall in Africa, enjoy the lodge and overnight.
Day 15-full day game drive in Murchison falls national park
After morning breakfast, you will drive to the Nile Delta which has the biggest concentration of wildlife during the dry season due to the presence of water in Lake Albert and the Nile delta. After you will return to the lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon take a launch cruise to the waterfall, return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 16-Drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking experience
After breakfast, morning game drive, visit the top of falls and transfer to Zziwa Rhino sanctuary, lazy evening at the lodge as you prepare for Rhino tracking the next day.
Day 17-Rhino tracking and Drive to Entebbe.
After breakfast, you will go for Rhino tracking in Zziwa Rhino sanctuary and later drive to Entebbe where you will have a nap at the lodge as you recover from the long 18 days budget Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda safari holiday.
Day 18 – Shoebill tracking- Onward international flight out
After breakfast, you will transfer to the Nakiwongo Landing site for your boat ride to Mabamba swamp, home to the elusive shoebill stork and you will enjoy Lake Victoria and its shores with fishing villages. You will return to the lodge and prepare for your international flight out.
