Itinerary
Day 1, Transfer to Volcanoes National park – Iby’Iwachu cultural village visit
After breakfast or upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will meet with Great Adventure Safaris representative for a simple briefing about the whole round trip and then start your drive to Musanze town which is a two hours’ drive from Kigali, with great scenery of the hills and beautiful countryside. You will check-in at the lodge, lunch, and in the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwachu cultural village well known as the home of Ex-poachers and experience their day-to-day life and what they used to do. After you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2 – encounter Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National park
After early morning breakfast, you will meet your driver/guide and drive to Volcanoes National park headquarters, there is always entertainment from the locals and a cup of coffee to warm you up as you wait for a briefing from the ranger guide. You will then be assigned a gorilla group to trek and transfer to meet your guide of the day; you will start the walk into the forest to search for the gentle giants in the jungles of Volcanoes National Park. We advise our clients to take porters to help you carry a backpacker and give you a pull or push where need be. Once you meet the Gorillas, you are only one hour to take photos and return to the starting point, meet your driver-guide and drive back to the lodge, refresh, checkout, and transfer back to Kigali for your onward flight or drop off at the airport.
