3 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Habituation Experience – Chimpanzees are one of the two great apes in Uganda. The best place to see the Chimpanzees in Uganda is in Kibale Forest National Park which is believed to be the primate capital of the world. The park has different communities of Chimpanzees and there is one community that is currently under habituation and the park rangers allow visitors to come along as they follow these Chimpanzees to learn more about their general life and how they feed.

Detailed day by day safari itinerary
Day One: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Today you start with a drive to Kibale Forest National Park after your morning breakfast. The journey will take you through the countryside with views of several gardens, towns, fruit and vegetable markets. Today is mostly a driving day with stopovers for stretching and pictures if you find anything of interest. The main stopover will be for lunch in the beautiful green Fort portal town. After a buffet lunch or whatever else you choose, the driver guide will continue the journey to your booked accommodation for check-in.
In the afternoon, you will go for the Bigodi Community Walk to explore more about this village and visiting the wetland for some special bird species and different monkeys. You will also visit the medicine man and learn about how he processes it.
Day Two: Chimpanzee Habituation in Kibale Forest National Park
After a well-rested night at your lodge and an early breakfast, the driver-guide picks you for your Chimpanzee habituation experience. You will be briefed by the ranger guides on how you are expected to conduct yourself while in the forest when you locate the Chimpanzees. Often you will find the Chimpanzees resting, feeding, or grooming each other with the young ones. This activity allows you four hours with the Chimpanzees.
Depending on the time you start and how soon you locate the Chimpanzees, this can be a whole-day activity or a half-day activity. You will walk with the rangers and researchers following these Chimpanzees throughout the day. This activity is not for someone who wants photos of Chimpanzees because the Chimpanzees under habituation are still not used to human presence and tend to move faster and sometimes shy away.
Day Three: Transfer Back to Kampala or Entebbe
After your breakfast, you will start the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe.
