Great Adventure Safaris organizes 5 days Bwindi gorillas & ishasha tree-climbing lions safaris that take you to some of the most popular Uganda National Parks of Queen Elizabeth National Park commonly known for the tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector which is also home to hippos, elephants, buffalo, leopards as well as a huge variety of bird species. The highlight of the trip is undoubtedly Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda. This close-up encounter is arguably the most sensational wildlife safari experience of a lifetime.
You will be picked up by our safari driver guide from either a guest house/Lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours, then drive to Queen Elizabeth National park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights.
This journey is about an 8-9 hours drive but very enjoyable as you will be driving through various local communities and towns along the road. The drive as well takes you through the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of the Kigezi region. You will as well have an opportunity to cross the Equator line where you will have an en-route stopover for photography and Equator experience then you will drive to Mbarara city for en-route lunch after proceeding to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight.

After early morning breakfast, you will go for a game drive in Ishasha plains in search of the tree-climbing lions depending on your luck that day, you will as well have an opportunity of viewing other wildlife and return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will relax at the lodge and later drive back for an evening game drive in search of late grazers and what you could have missed during the morning game safari.

On this day you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will spend your next 2 nights at Enjojo Lodge/Ishasha Jungle Lodge. You will arrive at the lunchtime hour’s check-in at the Lodge and have lunch, then relax at the lodge; you will later go for an evening community walk around Bwindi, and later after you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Drive time: 3-4 hours’ drive.
After your early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a Gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Once this is done, you will trek through the tropical rain forest of Bwindi with your ranger guides to find the Gorilla family allocated for you, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day.
During your trek, you will have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, various bird species and tree species which your ranger guide will give you information about to make the trek enjoyable. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful endangered creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in Gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
