Safari itinerary
Day 1- Pick up from Kayanza haut border of Burundi and drive to Nyungwe forest national park
After clearing with immigration at the Kayanza-Haut border point, our guide will receive into the Rwandan side for a short safari briefing after you will start your drive to Nyungwe forest national park overnight where you will break the long drive to Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable national park
Day 2-Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After morning breakfast you will start your drive via the Kivu belt and Volcanoes national park where you will cross from Rwanda to Uganda via the Cyanika border post and then continue to Bwindi impenetrable national park, upon arrival you will check-in, have dinner, and overnight
Day 3-Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After lovely night sleep, you will enjoy morning breakfast and then your guide will pick you up and transfer you to the park headquarters for a gorilla briefing with the park rangers from Bwindi forest, after the briefing you will drive to the trailhead to start your trek into the rainforest, after locating the Mountain gorillas you will spend 1 hour with them as you view them, photograph them and later you will return to the lodge for relaxation
Day 4-Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
After morning breakfast you will depart Bwindi impenetrable national park and drive to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in time for Lunch and later lunch you will relax for the rest of the day, or you can arrange optional activities at the lodge
Day 5- Day at leisure in Lake Bunyonyi
You will have the morning at leisure and later in the evening you will take an evening sundowner cruise on Lake Bunyonyi where you will expect to visit the historical islands like punishment island, see the local fishermen, beautiful birds and if the weather is perfect you will then see the incredible sunset on the lake and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 6-Drive to Kigali
After lazily breakfast you will drive to Katuna border post and clear immigration and then start your drive to the Rwandan capital Kigali, where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial and later transfer to your lodge for Overnight
Day 7-Drive back to Burundi
After morning breakfast you will bid farewell to the lodge and start your drive back to Burundi via Muhanga and Butare, upon arrival at the Kayanza haut border post our guide will drop you at the immigration office, and then you will continue with your border clearance into Burundi
