Best time to visit Kafue National park – The acentric Kafue national park is Zambia’s largest and oldest national park spanning an area of 22400km. The park attained its national park status (formation) in the 1950s. A huge fraction of the national park still remains uncharted thereby giving more access to the continuous development of the rich wildlife, plant and bird species. Kafue national park also derives its attraction and uniqueness from its size and the wild game that is holds.

All over the national park, the consistent Kafue River flows trailing a well-articulated course and its deviates and widens is areas where rocks seem harder and renders the flowing process impossible to go through them. The park has a wide array of activities that travellers can embark on, some of which include fishing, birding, game drives and canoe trips.

Some travellers may want to see the African bush in all its green glory in rainy season, catch some rare wildlife experiences whilst paying low season rates… Essentially it is completely down to you and to which individual park you are going to, but if wildlife viewing and brilliant beach time is a priority then the classically dry months is generally speaking a safe bet.

Best time to visit Kafue National Park – Kafue National Park is south of the South Luangwa and therefore has a slightly less close temperature in the classically hotter months of September, October and November. Generally therefore, if you are looking for superb wildlife then we would say October, just before the rains arrive in November, is a very good time to go. If you are not a lover of the heat though, we would still probably advise to visit in the dry months of June, July and August for fantastic wildlife and nice temperatures. In these months it can get chilly at night to be sure to bring a layer or two if you are venturing to Kafue then – also in morning game drives it is advisable to wear long trousers in the morning.
