Rushaga Gorilla Haven’s Lodge is located in a Ryarutagara spectacular spot in Kisoro district of Uganda. Ryarutagara means a hill with spectacular view of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the Mountain Gorillas, and within the sight and earshot of the Mashoho River.
The property on which Rushaga Gorilla Haven’s sits was acquired by Bishop Enoch Kayeeye in 1964. It was formally occupied by immigrants for many years. Nshongi Camp
Nshongi is 7.8kilometres from the centre of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and 340.3kilommetres from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala the capital city. This is one of the perfect locations to start your Gorilla tracking, in fact it’s the only place in Uganda and in the world where you can track the Mountain Gorilla Camp is just a few minutes’ walk to the Ugandan Wildlife Service hut, the starting point of the Gorilla tracking. The camp is located few meters from the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southwest Uganda. The camp has four traditional bandas, and is the perfect place for connecting with nature. These bandas have double beds and private bathrooms. Each bed has a mosquito net and views of the mountain. Guests can dine under the stars and relax by the roaring campfire. Three course meals are prepared and they can prepare lunch boxes for your tracking. Hot coffee, tea, and drinks are always available.
