Detailed Itinerary
You will be picked up from the Airport or Hotel
Accommodation before the tour departs can be arranged at an extra cost
Day One: You will be picked up from Kigali International Airport or Hotel in Kigali to start your Gorilla safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The journey is very scenic and it takes you through a country of a thousand hills to the Pearl of Africa. You will cross over to Uganda at Katuna or Kyanika border posts and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Drive time: Approximately 4-5 hours
Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner
Day Two: After breakfast and with your packed lunch and drinking water, you will transfer to the park offices for a briefing about Gorilla tracking. The ranger guide will take you through all the dos and the don’ts while with the Mountain Gorillas and after that you will be transferred to the starting point of your allocated Gorilla family. Please note that Gorilla allocation depends on your interests, fitness and age. Kindly inform your guide of your interests and he will try to request for the Gorilla family that fits your interests and fitness before you start the trek in the forest. Gorilla tracking can be strenuous and a certain level of fitness is required. Gorilla tracking can take from 30 minutes to three quarters of the day so one needs to prepare for both. Your ranger guide will try to provide information about tree species, bird species and other wildlife in the forest until you reach a given Gorilla family. You will be allowed only one hour of observing and photographing the Mountain Gorillas as they go on with their day to day activities and then trek back to the park offices for a graduation and be rewarded a certificate as a souvenir in recognition upon your successful Gorilla trek and the good support in conserving these giant apes and then back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Three: After breakfast, you will drive back to the park offices for your second Gorilla trek and depending on your last experience you will trek the Mountain Gorillas for the second time and then after you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a chilly evening, swiming or an optional canoe boa ride on the lake
Day four; Breakfast at leisure and then transfer back to Kigali-Rwanda for your flight out or an overnight at any hotel in Kigali marking the end of your trip to Uganda.
