Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) in is the body responsible for conservation in all the national parks in Uganda, and with that note, UWA regulates the conservation rates every after two years and it either increases or reduces or adds new product on the tariffs. Chimpanzee trekking price increase from USD150 to USD200 per person per trek and the USD50 will be channeled to conservation activities and community development programs. By July 2020, Uganda Wildlife Authority has revised their tariffs to introduce new rates for the products that they offer.
Chimpanzee trekking price increase, chimpanzee trekking in kibale National Park that most people visit after the gorilla tours, will be increased from USD150 to USD200 per person per trek, chimpanzee trekking in other areas like Kyambura, Kalinzu forest and budongo forest remains at the usual price rate. The chimpanzee habituation permit will be increased from USD200 to USD250 per person per trek
Kibale forest National Park has the highest number of habituated chimpanzee and ready for trekking, most of the travelers after enjoying the big five safaris in Kenya and Tanzania come to Uganda to enjoy primates only including chimpanzees, gorillas and golden monkey, golden moneky trekking will be increased as well from USD50 to USD100 per person, as gorilla trekking will be increased as well from USD600 to USD700 per person per trek, as mentioned above this small portion of money will be channeled to conservation and community development projects around the national parks of Bwindi impenetrable National park, Mgahinga National Park and Kibale forest National park.
