Entry fees to Kidepo valley national Park – Kidepo Valley National Park is the remote hidden gem of Uganda with diverse landscapes, from rocky mountain ranges to vast plains, and is home to almost 500 bird species and 77 different mammals. Out on the savannahs, you are likely see an impressive collection of animals including Ostriches, Giraffes and possibly predators such as Lions, Cheetah and Leopards.
Kidepo Valley National Park is a long way out, and one of Africa’s last great wilderness areas. It is an endless area of rugged savannah. It is quite incomparable with other National Parks in Uganda. It is possible you are one of the very few to drive around this National Park on any given day. You can come across flash rivers in the morning that are dried up in the afternoon. While the game viewing is excellent, it is the thrilling sense of supreme isolation that many people enjoy most.
Entry fees to Kidepo valley National Park are issued at every entrance gate to the National Park. One has to present his or her valid identification before your entry permit is issued; this helps to determine your status to see if you are a foreign non-resident, a foreign resident or an East African.
The foreign residents are required to present a valid work permit, the non-foreign residents are required to present their passports for verification and the East Africans are required to present their national Identification cards in order to get the entrance permits to enter Kidepo Valley National Park.
Your best bet is to go on an all-inclusive organized safari with Great Adventure Safaris. Don’t even bother hitching or taking a bus. It is VERY difficult to get around in the Kidepo Valley National Park without your own transportation. You might get lucky and have a safari opportunity with someone, but you might not.
The entrance fee for Kidepo Valley National Park for non-foreign residents is USD40, for a foreign resident is at USD30 and UGX20000 for East African citizens. All the above National Park entry fee are for a single day and which is considered 24 hours and any extra minute from the time of issue is counted as an extra day.
Kindly note: Kidepo Valley National Park entry fees are not levied on children who are below 15 years.
An annual entry fee is allowed and still classified. The annual park entry fee to Kidepo Valley National Park are only allowed too to the foreign residents who work are at work in Uganda and the members of the East African community in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.
Individuals who are foreign residents of Uganda are entitled to USD350 as annual park entry fees to Kidepo Valley National Park.
Individuals and citizens of the East African community are entitled to UGX150000.
Couples who are foreign residents are liable to USD500
Couples who are residents of the East African community are supposed to pay UGX200000 as annual park fees to Kidepo Valley National Park.
Families for foreign residents with a maximum of four kids are entitled to USD700 for their park entry fee to Kidepo Valley National Park.
Families of East African citizens are entitled to UGX300000 for the annual park entry fee.
The annual park entry fees for the foreign residents are USD1500 and 2.5millions for the corporate East African citizens.
Ugandan safari company guides are exempted and they have a free entry to all Ugandan National Parks. For other East African community citizen safari guide will be required to pay UGX100000 for annual park entry and the same price of other drivers.
Note that the park entry fee to Kidepo Valley National Park is not only applicable to humans but also the motor engines that enter the park like vehicles and aircrafts.
Motor cycles are charged USD30 for the foreign residents and UGX10000 for the East African citizens.
Saloon cars are Charged USD40 for foreign residents and UGX20000 for the East African citizens.
Minibuses are charged USD50 for foreign residents and UGX30000 for East African citizens.
Pickup trucks and 4×4 cars are charged USD50 for foreign residents and UGX30000 for East African citizens and school buses are charged UGX50000.
Helicopters are charged USD100 for foreign residents and UGX250000 for East African citizens per landing.
A 4 – 21 and above aircraft is charged from USD30-USD50 for the foreign residents and UGX60000 to UGX120000 for the East African residents.
Please note that parking fee for aircrafts per day is USD8 for foreign residents and UGX5000 for the East African citizens. The vehicle entry fees are charged per entry in the National Park and the landing fees of the aircrafts are independent of the park entry fees of Kidepo Valley National Park. The en-route pilots are not liable to the park entry fees if they stay for less than 2 hours.
