There is always a filming fee paid to the Uganda Wildlife Authority to take a shoot in National Parks depending on how many crew members in the group and how many days you will be filming in a given National Park. The longer the filming the less fee and on top of that, the crew has to pay for vehicle and park entry fees, monitoring fees, and a refundable fee that will be given back to you after providing a copy of a DVD to Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Chimpanzee Filming in Uganda can be done in different locations including Kibale Forest National Park and Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park. Uganda has also got Chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kalinzu Forest Reserve near Queen Elizabeth National Park, and on Ngamba Island home to orphaned chimpanzees who are rescued from animal traffickers on Lake Victoria.

Filming Chimpanzee in Uganda mainly in Kibale Forest National Park requires a payment of USD1000 per day for a film crew of not more than five members and a Chimpanzee permit of USD200 per crew member per day. This excludes monitoring fees and USD1000 refundable fees which will be given back to you after presenting a copy of the shoot to the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Chimpanzee filming in Budongo forest reserve will require you a filming permit from the Uganda National Forestry Authority allowing you to film Chimpanzees in Budongo forest.
