Filming Equipment hire in Uganda – for all production houses willing to source equipment in Uganda, just know that Uganda and Rwanda do not have proper Filming Equipment mostly needed by International Film Crews and Production Companies. It’s only Kenya that has enough and the latest cameras and gear for hire. As such Great Adventure safaris recommend that you bring in your filming equipment into Uganda, Rwanda and we help you in temporarily clear them into respective countries.
Uganda and Rwanda are not carnet countries so you will be required to pay a fee for temporarily clear in your filming equipment through the customs. A bond will be created for your filming equipment to act as an assurance that your equipment will indeed be flown back after your shoot.
As earlier mentioned that its only Kenya that has enough equipment and latest cameras for hire, Uganda and Rwanda do not recognise filming equipment for hire but if you want to hire, we will source in Nairobi-Kenya and maybe South Africa. For Great Adventure Safaris to commit to this task, we will require you to send us your desired kit list showing the type of cameras, Jibs and so on that you are interested in using while on your shoot in Uganda and Rwanda to give us a clue of the type and nature of equipment needed. Great Adventure Safaris will try to look for the specific equipment required and in a situation that we do not find them in Kenya, we will try in South Africa. Contact us and we discuss your equipment needs during your shoot in Uganda and Rwanda.
The government of Uganda requires all film crews intending to come with their filming equipment to temporarily clear it at immigration on arrival at the Entebbe International Airport something that can waste much of your time and you end up incurring un expected cost. At Great Adventure Safaris, we will request you to send through your Kit list which we shall send to our specialist clearing agent for an evaluation. It is usually a percentage of the total and once we have established how much it would cost, we will advise you accordingly and you pay for this in advance. On arrival, our clearing agent will be waiting for you at immigrations to help and take you through all this process.
Crews can always obtain a Visa on arrival but sometimes, film crews do not like lining up for this. We can help you to obtain a Tourist Visa or Business Visa to Uganda on arrival or inform one of our embassies closer to you. If requested, we will send you a letter that you will present to any embassy for them to issue you a visa otherwise, you can easily secure it on arrival at Entebbe International Airport after paying only USD50. Contact Great Adventure Safaris for more information about obtaining a Visa to Uganda.
