Commonly the fishing up at the Gorge is done using Lures that sink about 3 matters deep but anglers can carry a few Lures that are deeper than that and the second option is to use live baits which are usually caught in the morning by the clients and the fishing Guide, thirdly for catfish clients can carry fresh beef from the lodge or they can use dead baits.

What equipment do I need to bring for fishing on the Nile?

Best time for fishing on Victoria Nile.

July-Early September.

This is a perfect time of the year as it’s a dry season and water levels are low and this is the prime time to catch the big monsters however this is also a busy tourism season for availability of fishing boats please book in advance.

December-Early March.
