Uganda Wildlife Authority introduce Gorilla Habituation Experience activity in 2017 where tourists are allowed to spend four hours with the Mountain Gorillas which start counting by the time you find the fresh trails of the Gorillas on your walk. Tourists who are interested in in this four hour trek from Masaka can book it with Great Adventure Safaris and spend more time with Mountain Gorillas compared to a normal tracking which allows you only one hour when you find the Gorillas on your trek. This Gorilla habituation Experience from Masaka is fit for those visitors who are already in the country and those working with NGOs and those doing Volunteer work around Masaka town.
Our Gorilla Habituation safaris from Masaka town start in the morning where our professional driver guide picks you from where you are takes you through a briefing on what to expect before you start your scenic drive with stopovers for photography, lunch and then to Bwindi Forest National Park for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
The following day is your Gorilla Habituation Experience in the National Park and this starts with early breakfast at the lodge. WHAT TO DO BEFORE BOOKING A FOUR HOUR GORILLA TREK
When booking your four hour Gorilla trek from Masaka town you need to know that it takes place only in Rushaga the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Therefore you need to avoid lodges and hotels in other sectors. The minimum age for the Gorilla habituation experience is 15 years and for those bellow that age will not be allowed. A family of Mountain Gorillas under habituation can only be visited by a maximum number of four people every day and it’s advised to book your Gorilla Habituation Permits in advance before they run shortage.
