Kibale Forest’s most popular activity is Chimpanzee trekking. This experience is mostly smooth but challenging to some of the seniors, but the trails to the Chimpanzees are not difficult even though the Forest is very thick. The perennially popular primate walk provides the chance to observe Chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
The Chimpanzee Habituation Experience enables you to accompany researchers and park rangers into the forest and participate in the habituation process of these amazing creatures. The Chimpanzee groups involved are less accustomed to human presence than those visited on the normal treks and following and viewing them is both exciting and challenging.
Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is available on a full or half-day basis starting early in the morning and booking for this activity is required. Early visitors can watch Chimpanzees leaving their overnight nests between 6:00 – 6:30 am before feeding, copulating, hunting, breastfeeding, resting, patrolling, and displaying until it is time to build new nests for the next night at around 7:00 pm.
