Our Nkuringo Gorilla fly-in safaris take you to the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, in Nkuringo the mountainous far south-western tip where you will have the opportunity to track the Mountain Gorillas. This adventure excursion will take you to Nkuringo sector where you will trek the Mountain Gorillas and also interact with the Batwa people as they entertain you with their local music and dance. Nkuringo is a home to one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. Mountain Gorillas are one of the world’s most endangered apes. It is estimated that there are only about 1080 left throughout the world. Almost half of them can be found in Uganda, and populations can also be found in the neighbouring Rwanda’ Volcanoes National Park and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Our Nkuringo Gorilla fly-in safaris will start with a transfer to Entebbe International Airport where you will catch your local flight to Kisoro Airstrip in southern Uganda. During the short flight you will be able to see Uganda´s diversity from high up. Great Adventure Safari driver guide will pick you up from the Airstrip and drive you up to your booked accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

The next day in the morning after your breakfast, the highlight of the Gorilla Tracking Adventure starts with a briefing at the trailhead, the park headquarters. At 8:00 am the Gorilla tracking will start with a detailed briefing about Gorilla etiquette. Depending on which family you are tracking, the briefing point is either 300 meters or 23 kilometres away. After the briefing we will either start walking from there or will be driven to the closest starting point. We will then start searching for the Mountain Gorillas. Once we find them, we will be allowed to spend one hour with them. Gorilla Tracking Adventure challenge is a hike through the natural African jungle accompanied by local guides around Nkuringo sector, one of the most diverse habitats on earth.

Another exciting adventure day is with a local community walking and canoe excursions on Lake Mutanda near Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Guided walking safari guide to commence walk to Lake Mutanda having been dropped by your safari vehicle and here a walk to the north shore of the Lake Mutanda is conducted where the dugout canoe team will rendezvous at the Rwajenje landing site with you to complete a traverse of the Lake over 2 and half hours to the southern shore.

Nkuringo sector is 35 kilometres away from Kisoro town with its flora and fauna and other tourist activities which will keep you engaged at all times on your stay in Nkuringo Gorilla tracking sector.
