Nkuringo permits are booked through Uganda Wildlife Authority head offices in Kampala, but Great Adventure Safaris has an official permission to access Uganda Wildlife Authority online permit data base to check availability of Nkuringo Gorilla permits. When you contact Great Adventure Safaris about your Gorilla tracking trip, we will check availability of Gorilla permits in all sectors including Nkuringo sector. Once we find availability we will then book and hold your Nkuringo Gorilla permit until you effect payment. Uganda Wildlife Authority allows Great Adventure Safaris and other authorised Uganda tour operators to hold these booked permits for seven working days in which we send you an invoice to effect payment and we forward it to Uganda Wildlife Authority and pay for your Gorilla permits. After this we will then send you scanned copies of the Gorilla permit receipt and then pick your Gorilla permit cards on your behalf closer to your tracking date. Accessing Nkuringo sector

Nkuringo mountain gorillas & gorilla permits – Nkuringo region is located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Kisoro district. It can be accessed from Entebbe International Airport by air with daily scheduled flights which operate from Entebbe-Kisoro Airfield and if driving it will take you 9-10 hours on the road. Nkuringo can also be accessed from Kigali-Rwanda and this makes the drive short with 4-5 hours driving from Kigali for those who wish to visit Nkuringo Gorilla tracking sector when they fly to Kigali International Airport. Many tourists choose to fly from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro Airfield which takes 1-2 hours and then drive to Nkuringo for 2 hours. Nkuringo Gorillas are also popular with Rwanda tour operators as tourists who would fly to via Kigali and trek Uganda Gorillas in Nkuringo and Rushaga sectors which are popular destinations for those who pass through Rwanda due to the fact that while many are avoiding tracking Rwanda Gorillas because of the hiked price of Rwanda Gorilla permits which are at USD1500 per person per trek, they still prefer flying to Kigali International Airport and trek Nkuringo Gorillas in order to reduce on the drive time.

Nkuringo Gorilla Lodges and Campsites

For those who book Nkuringo Gorilla permits and Nkuringo Gorilla trips, we recommend that you book Lodges in Nkuringo sector and at worst stay in Rushaga.
