Oberlander’s ground thrush in Uganda -Oberlanders ground thrush unlike other thrush species likes to stay on ground it looks like kivu ground thrush with a bright black line in the eye.
Oberlanders ground thrush has been recorded in Semiliki national park, Bwindi impenetrable forest and Mgahinga gorilla National parks where it has been rarely seen by fewer bird watchers and researchers.
Oberlanders ground thrush has been recorded in the western Albertine rift valley particularly in the southern part of Uganda and the chances of seeing the Oberlanders ground thrush are so so small.
Obelanders ground thrush needs a bird watcher to stay for four days to six days looking for Oberlanders ground thrush in Bwindi forest where it has been seen and recorded by few bird lovers .
When looking for this oberlanders ground thrush ,birders are required to go with enough drinking water, packed lunch, insect repellent rain jackets, small medical kit, and the birder should be strong enough as the there are many hills in the forest searching the scarce oberlanders ground thrush .
Oberlanders ground thrush in Uganda’s Mgahinga can also be seen in a giant heath and bamboo zone in the primary forest where it likes to be in tangled vines.
The best times to see the Oberlanders ground thrush are in months of August to march. when looking for the scare and rare oberlanders ground thrush you can be able to spot other bird species including red fronted ant pecker , tit hylia, grey chested illadopsis , Narrow tailed starling , Pale breasted illadopsis ,slender billed starling white bellied robin chart, black bee eater, white throated bee eater ,buff throated apalis , western bronze napped pigeon ,blue throated roller, yellow spotted barbet , rufous flycatcher thrush , dusky long tailed cuckoo can be found .
