Purple breasted sunbird in Uganda – Purple breasted sunbird is a small sunbird with a very long tail slightly looking bronze sunbird and has a small body that has a shiny colours, purple, violet, gold copper, and green when it is in a breading plumage.

Purple breasted can be seen in Bwindi impenetrable national park, Mgahinga national park and mount Rwenzori national parks during your birding safari in uganda, the purple breasted sunbird is mainly found in the  Albertine rift valley .purple breasted sunbird can be seen at the altitude of 1450- 3000 metres above the sea level.

And birding in the southern part of Bwindi you can get it in Nkuringo and Rushaga gates in the days of flowering trees. Other chances can be got in Mgahinga and Rwenzori mountains national parks.

If it is not the flowering season they can wander everywhere in forests close the park when looking for nectar. It can also be seen on the way to some lodges when you are staying in ruhija Bwindi forest in the east

Purple breasted sunbird can also be seen in the Rwenzori national park as it also is seen on a high elevation areas starting from lower forests near the park gate going up wards in primary forest.
