Rwanda Africa gorilla tracking essentials – While planning a safari holiday to Rwanda it’s important to note all the essential requirement be travelling to the country of a thousand hills.
Rwanda is a home to four major national parks of volcanoes national park, Nyungwe forest national park, Akagera national park and Gishwati national park respectively.
Volcanoes National Park is named after the chain of dormant volcanoes making up the Virunga Massif: Karisimbi – the highest at 4,507m, Bisoke with its verdant Crater Lake, Sabinyo, Gahinga and Muhavura.

Nyungwe Forest National Park was established in 2004 and covers an area of approximately 970 km2 of rain forest, bamboo, grassland, swamps and bogs.

Visa.
It’s a must that any traveller planning a trip to east African nation can apply for a visa on line or attain it on arrival at the immigration offices located at the airport. The traveller has two options to choose either to make a single entry into Rwanda only or choose a multiple entry if she or he has to move into other east African nations. This visa works in three east African countries which are Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.
The gorilla permit.
It’s a must for any traveller going to Rwanda to attain a gorilla permit printed with the day of tracking on it. The permit can be applied for through Great Adventure safaris. It goes for a fee of $1500 per tracking.
Passport.
Any intending traveller must have a passport whose details are required for the attainment of the gorilla permit unless he or she is a resident of uganda, Kenya and Rwamda whose nationals can move freely in those countries without a passport but with a national identity card.
Yellow card and Covid 19 certificate.
With the current world pandemic crisis its advisable to get attain a covid certificate from a health center that provides them as it is a must for any traveller going to Rwanda. Entry into the country will be granted when the certificate is shown to the authorities otherwise access in to Rwanda will be denied.
