Stripe Breasted Tit in Uganda – Albertine Rift Endemics

Stripe breasted tit in Uganda – Stripe breasted tit is a grey and white tit with a black colour from the head to the breast . It has also has a white winged bars and in the edge of the tail and washed yellow on the flanks .it   is endemic to montane forests and likes to be found on altitude of 1750 -3400 metres above the sea level

Stripe breasted Tit can be easily be see in Bwindi impenetrable forest , Mgahinga  gorilla national park, and mount Rwenzori national park  but chances are high eastern part of Bwindi forest where they like to feed in mixed feeding flocks with other species they usually feed on small berries and insects in community trail and they respect to their call when tapped .

The researchers have made boxes for the stripe breasted tit to lay eggs in the boxes during the breeding season they tend to come to the boxes when the birders tape them sometimes you see them entering the boxes . Stripe breasted tit like to be active and can be seen way to Mubwindi swamp joining mixed flocks. Other places to see stripe breasted tit are in the mount Mgahinga and Rwenzori mountain ranges.

Stripe breasted Tit in Uganda can also be seen on the forest edge where a bird watcher can spot the stripe breasted tit at the lodge near the forest.

For easy viewing of the stripe breasted tit, a bird watcher needs to stay in the eastern part of the forest and northern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park. And walk in the morning looking for the stripe breasted tit they can be having a chance of seeing bar taied trogon , ludhers bush shrike ,mountain illadopsis white eyed slaty flycatcher and see monkeys like l.hoests ,red tailed , blue monkes and chimpanzes as well .
