Uganda luxury fly-in safari – If the distances of a long road-based safari aren’t really for you, then this itinerary will give you some great inspiration. A Uganda luxury fly-in safari allows you to fly between each destination rather than by road, so you can spend more time enjoying game drives and experiencing luxury camps and lodges.
This safari takes you to Uganda’s main National Parks that are linked easily by air with local carrier Aerolink. Start your trip with a stay in a comfortable hotel with great views over the famous Lake Victoria. With spa facilities, restaurants this is a great way to start your trip. Located conveniently close to Entebbe International Airport Hotel No 5 makes it quick and easy to get you thereafter arriving and back the next day to start your luxury flying safari.
After breakfast head back to Entebbe International Airport where you will take a short flight to Pakuba or Bugungu Airstrip in Murchison Falls National Park with noting straight away that baggage is limited to 15kg/33lbs for a soft bag and a small 5kg/11lbs hand luggage bag. (Extra luggage needs can be discussed).
You will be met and taken straight on safari in your 4×4 safari vehicle.
The next day is at your leisure. You can head out for a full day’s vehicle safari, two shorter drives, or mix it up with some water-based activities including a birding trip to the delta point.
After breakfast, head to the airstrip again for your short flight down to Queen Elizabeth National Park landing at Mweya Airstrip.
You will again be met by your driver-guide to immediately start your safari experience depending on the time you arrive.
The next day after breakfast you will head out to explore Kasenyi plains, the northern part of the park working your way north to the Kazinga Channel where you will take a boat safari on a small boat to get up close and personal with hippo whilst watching a variety of wildlife drinking at the water’s edge.
After a picnic lunch or heading back out after lunch at your Lodge, head to the Ishasha sector the south-western part of the park where the famous tree-climbing lions can be found in the fig trees enjoying an afternoon nap
After breakfast, you will take a drive through the park as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your drive will be tailored depending on what wildlife you spot. If you have a successful morning you will finish your day at the lodge ready for dinner and overnight.
The next day you will have an early morning wake up as treks start early. You will be given a packed lunch and taken to the Gorilla Trekking trailhead where you will be allocated your ranger guide and Gorilla family you will be seeking and watching. We highly recommend you hire a porter to take your rucksack for you and offer any assistance you need.
After returning after your trek, you will freshen up and head to the bar or fire pit to compare stories with fellow guests before a well-deserved dinner.
In the morning you will be taken to the Kihihi Airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe International Airport and your flight home or the next stage of your adventure.
