With the climate changes due to global warming, we are experiencing changes in these seasons with rains or drought coming un expectedly. That notwithstanding, Mountain Gorilla tracking takes place all year round but there are advantages and disadvantages of each season.

Advantages of tracking Mountain Gorillas in dry season

One of the advantages of tracking Mountain Gorillas in dry season in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks of Uganda and the Volcanoes National Park of Rwanda is that there is less rains. Rainfall can disrupt Gorilla tracking due to the fact that heavy down powers lead to the grounds making them slippery and hard for Gorilla tracking since you will have to walk or climb the hills in Bwindi forest, Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks or Volcanoes National Park. The rains can cause discomfort while tracking the Mountain Gorillas.

Kindly note, there is no guarantee that there will be no rains during the dry seasons in Uganda or Rwanda. Global warming has drastically affected the climate of Uganda and Rwanda and as such one has to prepare for both. In the case of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, rain can come at any time of the day due to the fact that it is a huge tropical rainforest influencing the climate and weather conditions in the forest as well as the surrounding village so much as rain might be less during the dry season.
