Fly in Kihihi buhona gorilla safaris – Uganda has become a popular destination for flying safaris after Aerolink Uganda introduced domestic scheduled and charter flights from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip which is 46 kms by road to the Buhoma park headquarters where gorilla tracking activities start from in the northern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park.
The flight from Kihihi to Buhoma is 1:15 minutes compared to 10-11 hour drive with stop overs in the equator line in kayabwe before proceeding to mbarara but the road passes by the cattle ranches or corridors near the park boundary of lake Mburo national where you have chances of seeing wildlife on the way to the lunch stop like Zebras and impalas grazing near the long horned Ankole cattle.
-Tour starts in Entebbe or Kajjansi air strip.
-pre tour accommodation is a must as the morning scheduled flight to Kihihi departs early morning at 8 from Entebbe.
-Flights are usually operated using the 11 seater caravan aircrafts which are comfortable.
-Optional activities in the afternoon for passengers travelling on the morning flight is possible such as forest walk, community walks, birding near Buhoma office, game drives in Ishasha search of tree climbing lions.
-The baggage limit is 15 kgs but clients can pay for extra baggage with the Airline.
-For international travellers their bigger luggage’s can be stored in the storage space in our office in Entebbe.
-A 4×4 safari car is required for a transfer from Kihihi airstrip to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
