Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort Kabale is situated about 410 kilometers south-west of Kampala. After crossing the equator you drive through Masaka and later Mbarara on a good tarmac road. There is plenty of public transport (buses and minivans) that travel this route daily in both directions. Accommodation is provided in comfortable safari tents, rooms, cottages and family cottages. You will also find a self-camping option if you have your own equipment. You can also hire a comfortable mobile tent’ with or without bedding arrangement in the hotel gardens.
Ten safari tents are mounted on raised platforms each with its own terrace, and wonderful views of Lake Bunyonyi. The tent is furnished with twin beds, electric lighting, two director’s chairs, a writing table and a hammock for your comfort. This accommodation uses a shared bathroom and toilet facilities. Each of the 12 cottages located in two terraced blocks has panoramic views of the lake, and you can choose from either a twin bedded or a double bedded occupancy options. These rooms are very suitable for single occupancy accommodation. The rooms are all self-contained with their own bathroom, and toilet facilities. Each room has a small private terrace where you can relax, read your book and enjoy a sun downer drink at the end of the day. Electric lighting and power points are provided for your comfort.
The two family cottages are completely self-contained units, and fully furnished for your convenience. Satellite TV is also included in the furnishings. Each unit has a lounge, two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 4 persons. A fully equipped kitchen with utensils is also part of the accommodation package. The cottages have a small terrace and lawn frontage on which to Barbeque or picnic.
The 4 rooms make up part of the terraced block. This accommodation is not self-contained and guests utilize the same shared bathroom and toilet facilities of the campsite and safari tent guests. Electric lighting and power points are provided for your comfort.
