Great Adventure Safaris assists with Press Accreditation in Uganda for film crews and TV Companies that wish to film or shoot in Uganda. We offer to fix services such as accommodation, transport, filming contracts, permits, and kit cleaning services and we ensure that all film crew members are accredited to conduct filming for the period they will spend in Uganda.
We do this through the Uganda Media Council who is in charge of issuing Media Cards and Press Accreditation to all journalists. All film crew members will require Media Cards and on our part, we will send you a FORM G which should be filled by each crew member as a requirement for Press Accreditation in Uganda.
Each crew member will then send us one passport photograph plus a scanned copy of his or her passport which we will then send to the Uganda Media Council to enable them to process your Press Accreditation and issuing out your Media Cards. Uganda Media Council charges for Press Accreditation depending on the duration of your shoot in Uganda.
All film crews and Production houses will be required to temporarily clear all their filming equipment into Uganda for filming. We are very much aware of this and we do help with Kit customs clearing for companies that do contact us.
Before coming to Uganda for your filming, please do send us your kit list showing the name, serial number, and the value of each item so that we forward it to our clearing agent for evaluation. Generally, it is a certain percentage that is charged so once he has evaluated, we will let you know so that you affect payment.
We work in such a way that our clearing agent will be waiting for you at any entry point in Uganda, on arrival. If you enter through Entebbe International Airport, then you will find him at immigration or customs and he will take you through all the clearing process. On the day you will be flying out, he will make sure that he waits for you at the Airport to make sure that all goes well.
Great Film Fixers organizes transport for film crews in Uganda. We organize transport in Land cruisers, and 4 x 4 Minibuses customized for photography and filming. We are aware that film crews require extra space to carry their kit from one place to another so depending on your budget. Contact us for all your transportation requirements while in Uganda for your filming.
If the equipment is a lot then we can organize to remove some seats from the vehicles to make sure that you have enough space for your kit. Our vehicles are fully maintained and insured to make sure that you don’t have any problems while on the road. Kindly let us know about your requirements and we will serve you accordingly.
These vehicles are driven by our trained driver guide/local fixers with lots of experience in terms of destination information. They have guided different film crews and are thus very useful in as far as direction and information is concerned.
We organize accommodation for film crews all over Uganda, whether in Entebbe, Kampala, or upcountry and National Parks, please contact Great film fixers and we will offer you good rates for all your accommodation requirements.
Kindly let us know the category of accommodation you prefer for your crew members for example budget, mid-range, or upmarket and we do it for you. Accommodation rates tend to vary depending on the season. June, July, August, and September rates tend to be high as these are typical tourist seasons in Uganda so booking should be done in advance to avoid shortage.
In East Africa, it’s only Kenya that has equipment for hire. Uganda does not have recognized filming equipment for hire but if you want to hire, we will source in Nairobi Kenya, and or South Africa. Great Adventure Safaris will commit to this task after you send us your desired kit list showing the type of cameras, jibs, etc. that you are interested in using while filming in Uganda to give us a clue of the type and nature of equipment needed. We will try to look for the specific equipment required and in a situation that we do not find them in Kenya, we will try in South Africa.
Great Adventure Safaris organizes filming security for film crews and Production companies that request it. There are several reasons why film crew companies and production companies may need filming security while filming in Uganda. Most insurance companies that insure filming equipment will require you to have security while filming in Uganda such that should there be any unexpected circumstance or act, then, they are assured that you tried your best by hiring a security firm to protect your filming equipment but what happened was beyond your control.
The second reason why film crews, television, and production companies may need filming security is that you want to be assured of your safety and security plus that of your equipment while filming in Uganda. Security personnel, in this case, will provide the necessary security for you and your equipment while filming in any of the locations mentioned for the duration agreed upon.
Great Adventure safaris is in a position to organize security for your filming projects in Uganda as long as you let us know. While in Uganda, you may use the services of Uganda Police, which by far is the cheapest of all forces, or you can hire services of any given private and licensed security firms. Whether you want uninformed or un-uniformed security personnel, armed or not armed, we will do this for you to make sure that all goes well with your filming in Uganda.
Organizing your filming security while in Uganda takes about 2-3 working days as long as we have an official letter from your television or production company indicating who you are, why you are coming to film, when and the reason why you want this security. We will then forward this letter to the relevant authorities/ police or Private and licensed security firms who will then determine how much you will be required to pay for this service. Our Logistical fixers are available to help you organize this as long as you send us an email or a telephone call.
