Gorilla tracking in Uganda is done in two national parks of Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga national park.
Bwindi is a home to 18 habituated mountain gorilla families available for tourism and each family can be visited by up to 8 tourists per day.
Mgahinga gorilla national park is a home to 1 resident gorilla and 1 mobile gorilla family that usually overlaps to the neighboring volcanoes national park in Rwanda and Virunga national park in DR Congo.

Congo’s continues political insurgence in the eastern kivu province has hindered the tourism activities over years that including the constant rebel attacks on the park rangers that has forced the park to close down many times during the last 10 years.
Congo has 3 national parks of Virunga national park for mountain gorillas, Kahuzi Biega national park for eastern lowland gorillas and Odzala national park for western low land gorillas.
